In 2013, Dr. Trenace Nicole Richardson, lovingly known as “Nikki”, got tired of looking successful on the outside, yet feeling broken and defeated on the inside. She knew there were countless other women who felt the same, but were suffering in silence. So, she decided that it was time to combine her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from George Washington University, her decades of ministry experience, her experience as an award-winning educator, and her personal journey to bring women together from all walks of life to CONNECT in a COMMUNITY for the purpose of personal growth and development. As a result, REAL Women was created!
Dr. Richardson is a passionate and energetic preacher, teacher, and psalmist. She has been nicknamed, “The Fireball” because of her incredible delivery of the Word of God. Her ability to make the Scriptures come alive in a powerful, yet practical way is unparalleled.

Dr. Richardson recognized her call to the music ministry at a very early age and has since recorded with several local recording artists. She acknowledged the call to preach the Gospel while in college; she was licensed to preach in 1999 and was ordained in 2012. A lover of learning and all things academic, Dr. Richardson earned a Master of Divinity degree from Howard University and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University. Her dissertation focused on the “Impact of Spirituality on the Leadership Practices of African American Women College Presidents.”
She is also a published author, and has written on the “Spirituality and Leadership Practices of Black Women College Presidents, Servant Leadership, Spirituality in the Workplace, and Leadership Development.” One of her sermons was featured in a publication titled, “These Sistas Can Say It!” Her most recent project, along with the REAL Women Core Team, is titled, “REAL Women on the Journey.” She is currently working on her upcoming masterpiece, “The REAL Women’s Manifesto.”
As a result of her education and experience, Dr. Richardson is a sought after speaker and leader in educational and religious settings. She has spoken to audiences across the country, helping churches, organizations, and individuals excel in the areas of spiritual empowerment, servant leadership, and leadership development. Dr. Richardson is an award-winning professor and Dean of Faculty at Strayer University. In 2016, she was awarded the Trailblazer Award by the Charles County Commission for Women in the area of entrepreneurship. Dr. Richardson is a proud member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and has won several local and national beauty pageants using them to fund her educational pursuits.
Dr. Richardson served faithfully in executive church leadership for several years before deciding to return to higher education leadership full-time while simultaneously building her God-given vision of creating REAL Women. Her ministry experiences have included: overseeing Christian education, leading praise and worship, conducting ministers’ trainings, and teaching Bible studies for all age groups. She is currently a worship leader at LifePoint Church in Waldorf, MD.
Trenace is blessed to be the wife of Gregory Richardson, and they have two beautiful children, Nhi’ya and Nigel.
