Professor Najja K. Baptist is a Political Science instructor and Ph.D. Candidate at Howard University. His research interests include popular culture, political theory, political behavior, black politics, political attitudes, African-American politics, political psychology, and public opinion.  He completed his undergraduate studies at North Carolina Central University (Summa Cum Laude).  Additionally, he earned a master’s degree in Political Science from Jackson State University (2010). 

 

Mr. Baptist is currently completing his doctoral degree in the Department of Political Science at Howard University. His dissertation examines how race consciousness enhances the interaction between Black Music and Black Activism.  He has served as President of Howard University Graduate Political Science Association and as the graduate student representative for the National Conference of Black Political Scientist and African Heritage Studies Association.
