Shawaan Robinson
Shawaan Robinson is an educator with 25 years of experience serving students in both Prince George’s and Montgomery County Public Schools. Over the years, she has acquired a unique skill set, having been an elementary school teacher, an elementary and middle school counselor, and a pupil personnel worker. She currently works as a middle school assistant principal in Montgomery County. Shawaan is deeply rooted in her core values and beliefs in equity, shared leadership, culturally relevant pedagogy, student centered learning, and relationship building.
She is an adjunct professor at McDaniel College, teaching in the Equity and Excellence in Education Certification Program and was recently appointed president of the Montgomery County Alliance of Black Educators (MCABSE). She resides in Washington, DC with her two sons, Benjamin (21) and Justin (11), and her mom Carol.
