Dr. Andrea Jeffress

Growing up in the inner city and leaving high school to enter college at the age of 14, Dr. Andrea Jeffress knows what it means to have a hand up and not a handout. As the first recipient of the first scholarship given for the Miss Black Connecticut Scholarship Pageant in 1991, she applied her scholarship to earn her medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine. Following medical school, she completed her OBGYN residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She is now a board certified by the American Board of Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

 

Dr. Jeffress has been in practice with OB/GYN Associates of Erie, PA since 2000 where she practices general obstetrics and gynecology with an interest in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques such and laparoscopy and robotic-assisted surgery. She has many passions and hobbies, including writing, singing, sports, traveling, movies, and the arts; however, her greatest joy is philanthropy and volunteering for civic organizations, such as Mercyhurst University, the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter for Alzheimer's Organization, True Praise Gospel Group, The Booker T. Washington Center, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Kingdom International Economic Development Corporation which trains and empowers women to pursue education and entrepreneurship and works to "Go Direct" to fight poverty and hunger in our local communities and throughout our nation.

 

Besides medicine, she is an entrepreneur and small business owner, distributing RAINEATER Wiper Blades and Zenedge Energy Drinks. She now excited to pursue her passion for writing and helping people as the author of “Be the Plan” and “SMART JOCKS-Raising a #1 Draft Pick”. Her message serves to motivate parents and youth to focus on using higher education, sports, and business to build a plan for a brighter future.
