Dr. Treesa Elam-Respass

Dr. Treesa Elam-Respass has served as a science educator with over 20 years of experience in Charles and Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland and Fairfax County Public Schools in Northern Virginia.

In her various roles, she has succeeded as a teacher, Assessment Coach, Lead Mentor, district-level science instructional specialist, and elementary school principal. During her tenure as a district-level leader, she coordinated grant-funded forensics and robotics summer programs for middle school students. Therefore, developing a passion for middle school science, Dr. Elam-Respass focused her doctoral research on, “EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES THAT ENGAGE THE AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE“. She contributes her expertise in curriculum, instruction, and assessments, diversity in instructional strategies, and instructional technology to her colleagues and organization.

As an active member of her community, Elam-Respass is the Treasurer of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the Grambling University National Alumni Association and she serves as the Chaplain of the Tri-County (MD) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a proud alumnus of Grambling State University of Northern Louisiana, Western Maryland College, and the University of Maryland, College Park.
