Joy Green
Joy Green is a native Washingtonian where she serves as this year Scholarship/Recruitment Chair for Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) Washington DC Metro Chapter. In this role, Joy leads a committee through various recruitment efforts and activities through the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Furthermore, she oversees and takes charge of the chapter scholarship process from beginning to end. Prior, Joy was an active member on the fundraiser committee where she helped raised over $6,000 to provide six $1,000 scholarships to recipients from the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia area who recently graduated from high school and currently attending WSSU.
As a first generation student, Joy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with a concentration in Human Resources and a minor in Finance and Economics from WSSU. There, she became a proud member ofZeta Lambda Chapter, Pi Sigma Epsilon professional fraternity. While in school, Joy was a Resident Adviser, library associate, interned at the on-campus recreation, worked at the call center, became a two time Thurgood Marshall scholar, was a recipient of many scholarships, and opportunities. Two years later, working full time as a human resource officer, Joy graduated with honors earning a Master of Business Administration from the University of the District of Columbia. In addition, Joy is a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional. Currently, Joy is pursuing her Doctorate in Strategic Leadership from Liberty University.
