April Ademiluyi
April Teniade Ademiluyi was born in Baltimore, Maryland to African Immigrants. April is a Prince George’s native, who attended Prince George’s County public schools. She attended Beltsville Elementary School; Martin Luther King Middle School; and graduated from High Point High School in 1999.
In 1998, April began her college studies at University of Maryland College Park through the early enrollment program, which allowed her to take college courses while still a high school student, and in 2003, she earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Immediately after graduating from the University of Maryland College Park, April began her career as an Engineer for the U.S. Coast Guard. While serving as an Engineer, April passed the Patent Bar and began offering patent consulting services to independent inventors. April entered law school, in 2004, during which she interned on the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. As an intern on the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, April honed her Intellectual Property acquisition and litigation skills through working on Intellectual Property cases appealed from the federal district courts and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
April believes “there is no higher honor than public service.” April has been a dedicated public servant, who fights for the well-being of the poor and the injured. April graduated from George Mason University School of Law in 2007 and immediately opened the Law Office of April T. Ademiluyi. The economic recession, at the time of April’s graduation, provided her with the opportunity to find the very emotionally satisfying work of saving Marylanders from losing the American dream of home ownership. April aggressively fought the big banks and saved many homes. C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, U.S. Congressman for the 2nd Congressional District of Maryland, recognized April’s achievements in fighting foreclosures pro bono.
April has represented everyone from low income Maryland residents to international corporations earning substantial profits. In the Maryland Courts, April continues to successfully combat foreclosures and engages in a wide variety real estate litigation; consumer protection class action litigation; and bankruptcy cases. April represents corporations and independent inventors and artists on acquisition, infringement, and validity of trademarks, copyrights, and patents. April serves as counsel to the Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Control Agency. April also represents individuals in divorce and custody disputes; employment wage and hour disputes and discrimination; and criminal matters. April is licensed in Maryland state courts; the United States District Court for the District of Maryland; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
April holds active memberships in Civil Justice; American Trial Lawyers Association; the American Intellectual Property Association; Prince George’s County Bar Association; NAACP; and the National Society of Black Engineers. April is also a member of Zion Church and Power of His Glory Ministries. She also enjoys cooking and engaging in competitive boxing and kickboxing.
