Jacqueline Wilcher

“If you want something done, ask a busy person to do it. The more things you do, the more you can do.” Mrs. Jacqueline Wilcher is often called upon as the person to get things done!

 

Jackie Wilcher was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Oxon Hill, MD. She attended Prince George’s Community College and graduated from National Louis University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Troy State University and a Master of Resource Strategy from the National Defense University. She also completed the Executive Leadership Program, is a Certified Defense Financial Manager. Mrs. Wilcher is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the National Association of Parliamentarians, National Council of Negro Women, NAACP, amongst others.

She has 35 years of public service at the Department of the Navy serving in various critical acquisition positions overseeing the execution of billions of dollars. She can be found using her personal time mentoring entry-level employees on the details of the budgeting and established a Financial Management Internship Program while working at the Pentagon. Since 2006, Mrs. Wilcher has participated in the resolution of thousands of cases as a volunteer member of the Board for Correction of Naval Records which provides a method for correcting of errors and removing of injustices from current and former Navy and Marine Corps member’s records without the necessity for private legislation.

Mrs. Wilcher believes in serving the community and has done so in numerous endeavors. She organized the Top Ladies of Distinction (TLOD), Inc. Prince George’s County Chapter in 2009. She served as the chapter’s 1st President for four years increasing membership over 200 percent, mentoring Top Teens, and participated in over 100 community service projects in addition to publicizing chapter outreach efforts by “Taking it to the Streets” with Bobby Gailes during the Steve Harvey Morning Show and having a radio interview on 95.5 WPGC Community Focus Program with Guy Lambert. Mrs. Wilcher currently serves as the TLOD National and Area II Director of Operations. She also serves on the Executive Board for the Franchell E. Boswell Educational Foundation and serves as the Scholarship Chair.

In addition to her service with TLOD, Inc. she speaks to ninth grade students in Prince George’s County Public Schools as a Volunteer with the Maryland Scholar’s Program “Achievement Counts” created by the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education. Mrs. Wilcher serves as a voter registration volunteer and has donated countless hours as the Treasurer of the Brandywine Landing Homeowners Association in the community where she lives. As recent as April 2, 2017, Mrs. Wilcher was sworn in as Chapter President of the Silhouettes of the Upper Marlboro/Waldorf (MD) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. when the chapter was chartered and she also served as the Chapter Organizer.

 

Mrs. Wilcher has faith in God and maintains Christian principles in all that she is involved in. She has been a faithful member of Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, MD for 28 years volunteering for various church ministries such as the Ministry of Helps, Social Media Ministry, Single Parents Ministry, singing with the Rejoice Choir and serving on the Board of Directors at Ebenezer Federal Credit Union as the Secretary for four years. Mrs. Wilcher also served as the Secretary of the Homeless Mobile Ministry preparing and serving cooked food to homeless men and women in the D.C. area.

 

Mrs. Wilcher currently resides in Brandywine, MD with her husband, DeWayne Wilcher. She has one son, Anthony, and one daughter, Jakeya, son-in-love Nemesio, three step-children, Aaron, Zachery, and Zeeleyah along with seven grandchildren.
